It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a squad that has won it all.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was far harder to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can do it."

Those words will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.
