Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who featured in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA recently following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a message.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
