Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The adventurer knows the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by the clan.

This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.

Fans can expect finding out which characters will be where in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
